About Belfast

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and it is both the seat of the devolved government and the legislative centre. It is the second largest city in the whole of the country and the 15th largest in the UK. The city is a centre for industry, business, the arts and higher education. Since the signing of the IRA ceasefire in 1994 investor confidence has increased resulting in a interval of steady economic growth. The economy of Belfast has historically been built on commerce, with the city acting as a trading hub due to its ports and shipyards.

The Titanic was built in the Hartland and Wolff shipyard and the city is home to the world’s first aircraft manufacturing company, Short Brothers plc. The transportation in Belfast is relatively car-dependant however there are bus and rail networks. The city is home to two airports: Belfast International which offers domestic and international flight services; and the George Best Belfast City Airport. The city is an excellent choice when looking for a site for office relocation.
