About Bath

Bath was originally founded as a spa resort by the Romans in AD 43 and has always had a large part of its economy dependant on tourism and leisure. In 1987 the city became a World Heritage Site and has many museums, theatres and cultural venues that act as major attractions for tourist activity. Other industries which are revenue winners for the area include a large service sector, information and communications technology and creative industries.

The main employers of the city include the National Health Service and the Ministry of Defence.
